2018 C.U.R.E. Ride

Doheny Eye Institute

2018 C.U.R.E. Ride

The C.U.R.E. Ride takes place from October 18 – 21, 2018 and is a 4-day bicycle ride from Santa Barbara to San Diego that raises money and awareness of Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON). LHON is a genetically inherited disease that leads to a loss of central vision. The disease usually affects people in their teens or twenties, and there is currently no treatment or cure.

Now in its tenth year, the C.U.R.E. Ride has raised approximately $250,000 to support research aimed at finding a cure for LHON.

Donations to the 2018 C.U.R.E Ride will support LHON research at Doheny Eye Institute, a top vision research center proudly affiliated with UCLA Stein Eye Institute. You can learn more about their efforts to find new cures and treatments for LHON at www.doheny.org/LHON.

You can help fund research for LHON by making a donation in support of this year’s ride.

Thanks for your support!

The "Focus on the Good" keychain and the 4-pack of Barnacle No Spill coasters have a special connection to the C.U.R.E. Ride. When Jeremy Poincenot suddenly became legally blind in 2008 due to Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON), he and his roommate at San Diego State University, Mark Prophet, created the C.U.R.E. Ride to raise awareness of LHON and funding for a cure. Now celebrating its 10th year, donor gifts include the "Focus on the Good" keychain Jeremy shares as a professional Inspirational Speaker and Blind Golf Champion (www.JeremyPoincenot.com), and the innovative, mobile coaster created by Mark's company (www.BarnacleCoasters.com).
